Do you do weddings?

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

This is a question I am often asked. Once upon a time I would have answered a definite ‘Yes’. Now I answer ‘if it fits’.

So do I shoot weddings? I guess I am open to it sometimes :) I like and think my style and personality is suited to more relaxed weddings. The majority of weddings I have shot over the years, probably 85% of them, the couples already have children. Of all the weddings I have photographed 95% of them have been in parks, at the beach, in reception chapels. Only 2 have been in ‘churches’. All of all the weddings I have captured I have never and will never spend 3-5 hours after the ceremony driving around to different locations barking instructions to the bridal party for photographs. Its just not me.

When the right couple come along though and we fit together then I adore weddings and adore being able to share in their very special day. I feel honoured that they choose me to capture this precious memory for them.

This past weekend was one such wedding. Let me introduce Paula and Lee and of course little Miss Xanthe.

My GREEN link: Book a Chook

Yes I’m still tlaking about ‘chooks’. This is a great idea too, this company hires out chooks and coops to see if having a chook or two or more suits you!

My GREEN Link: Back Yard Poultry

Having a few chooks in the back yard has many benefits, one being having yummy fresh free range eggs! Not to mention all the great fertiliser for your garden!

We love our 6 chooks. They are part of our family. Here is an image of 2 of our girls.

My GREEN link:- Boneo Maze and Wetlands

We spent an afternoon here over the holidays and it was really great! The children enjoyed working out all the puzzles (ok so did we!) and the grounds were relaxing to be in. Well worth a day visit to.
