expecting

It was an absolute pleasure to meet this couple the other week.

This absolute charming man hired me way back in March this year to do photos of his pregnant partner. He kept it a surprise from then until the shoot. He had her get her hair done, nails done, dress up nicely and do make up and all that with the thought of him splurging out for a nice lunch together. We met at her aunts house in Williamstown (thanks again for letting us use your gorgeous home!) where Joe met me out front and took me inside and the suprise was let out! Kylie was a little shocked I think!

She soon got over the surprise and we got stuck into having fun with the shoot. It was a FREEZING cold day out at the beach in Williamstown (have I said before how much I love taking photographs here?) So we only braved it outside for a short while.

The photo was part of a VERY fun photo session a few weeks ago. I was hired by a family from the Middle East who were in Melbourne for a family holiday. I met them in at Crown where they were staying and we spent a few fun hours wandering around the city. Do any more of these places look familiar?

It was SOOOOO much fun shooting in the city and I’d be very up for it again if any other families wanted to meet and shoot in there!

My GREEN Link: Australia and New Zealand Sustainable House Day

Get out and visit sustainable houses around Australia on the weekend of 13th-14th September. Many houses in each state will open their doors to share with the public ideas and ways of sustainable living.

I’ve wanted to do the Brunswick thouse the last 2 years but had photo bookings each year so missed it…. this year I have a wedding booked for the Saturday but hope to get there the Sunday.

We could almost open our home as a sustainable house, we already have worm farms, compost, chooks, vegie beds, solar hot water, water tanks etc! But there is always ways to improve and do better… get out and go see the houses for some ideas!

1. I see very poorly out of my left eye. I had it operated on when I was five due to it being a lazy eye. It corrected the turn of the eye but not the use. I wore a pink pirate eye patch for quite some time (years) to try to correct it.

2. I can bend just the tips of the ends of my fingers with the rest staying straight (but I can NOT curl my tongue and look a right fool trying to!)

3. I LOVE op shopping. Its like a hobby to me and I find it incredibly relaxing.

4. I don’t really like chocolate or cake. I think its a texture thing? or maybe its too sweet (or I’m sweet enough already - gag gag - haha) I could eat insanely large amounts of brie cheese though.

5. I smell the milk carton every time I use it before using it. Nothing worse than pouring off milk into a coffee…

6. I’m still afraid of the dark. Well not petrified or anything anymore but it still makes me feel unsettled. I think of the boogeyman and how he might jump out and get me. My kids all sleep with lights on and I dont complain as it means I have a little light filtering into my room at night from the hall also.

I strongly encourage you to go visit the above links as these girls are all AWESOME photographers!
